Reflections

A week has passed since my arrival to the United States. During my stay in Portugal I made a strong bond with each of my classmates and professors. I feel that each and every participant involved in this study tour incorporated a unique personality which made this trip the best it could have been. I thank Greg for putting this tour together and making an experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. The pictures will remind us of the happiness and laughter we shared during those short two weeks we had spent together. Thank you to Martin Grossman for giving this opportunity to attend and introduce me to all my new friends from Bridgewater State. I enjoyed tracing back to part of my family routes and experiencing what they did in their day. In my opinion, this trip was a journey fulfilled with knowledge, happiness, friendship and a diverse culture. I was used to some customs displayed while we visited Portugal, but I uncovered so much more than I prepared myself to witness. We were absorbed into many cultural situations as if we were apart of the culture itself and together we created a way to adapt to the conditions. Of course we goofed around a lot, but we all tried are best to understand the Portuguese way of life and embraced it as our own. Hence, it made it difficult for us to leave a place that we learned to call home.
